Well, hello there! I'm MacKensie.
Welcome to One to Nothin'!
So I'm kind of a music-obsessed goofball, and as it turns out so is my family. One time on a road trip we (mostly my dad) decided to turn the radio into a game. Basically any time a song comes on you have to be the first one to correctly call out the artist. Sounds simple enough, but to make it truly "us," instead of keeping score and making an actual game out of it.. We yell at the top of our lungs (with highly obnoxious inflection):
"ONE TO NOTHIN'"
Even if you've only gotten one right and everyone else has been getting them the entire trip. This way the game never ends and you never have to stop gloating. Win-win.
You should know that I never stop playing this game, ever. Any music is game.
Always be on guard.

I'm 22 23 years old and I graduated from the University of Florida with my bachelor's in journalism back in May, 2011. I set off thinking I was going to be Jennifer Garner from "13 Going on 30" (minus the whole missing out on 20 years of my life bit) and quickly came to the realization that no one wanted to hire me. Not to write anyway.
...That's about the time I started blogging with any regularity.
In between cover letters, resume tweaks, interviews and frustrated follow-up-after-follow-up e-mails, I sat down to my laptop and expressed my creativity this way... unemployed.*
*I have since become a part-time server and a part-time editorial assistant for a local magazine with lots of BIG plans for the near future. Stick around to see what comes next. ;)

I'm also a runner! Expect to see lots of posts about marathon training and all that fun stuff that comes along with trying to be a healthy individual (while still getting my party and cake on).
Fun fact: I'm lactose intolerant.
Actually, I'm a lot of *unknown* things intolerant, so you'll see a lot of experimental dairy-free cooking on this blog that's meant to comfort by stomach as much as bring out my inner domestic goddess.
I also really like to dress up. I don't know much about fashion, and I couldn't care less about what's "last season" but I do like to wear (and make my own) clothes. So you'll see my outfits in all their glory (infamy?) on here as well.
Lastly, don't expect to see posts about being engaged/married/preggo/motheroftheyear on here.
This mutt (Ziggy Stardust) is the one and only love of my life, and I expect it to stay that way for quite some time. Hopefully I will make up for my lack of typical-blogger-topics by entertaining you with awkward dating/falling-over-myself/partying/taking my pup running stories.

If you like what you see, have a look around and be sure to follow along.
So glad you decided to stop by!
